Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb, Croatia has won the title of Historic Hotel of the Year at the 2019 European Hotel Awards in Geneva, Switzerland. It was built in 1925 in order to provide luxurious accommodation to passengers of the famous Orient Express. Ever since it has been an icon of art deco that is enchanting guests with its luxurious interior, impressive architecture, and contemporary amenities.
After receiving the award, Ivica Max Krizmanić, general manager of the hotel Esplanade, commented: “This award once again proves that we are at the very top of the European, but also the international scene of the selected hotels, widely known for its rich history which makes the Esplanade so unique.
